In 1995, Vietnam Register started to work on motor vehicle
inspection in terms of technical safety and environment protection.
Vietnam Register has two specialized Divison located in Hanoi, in charge of technical management for 78
inspection stations across the country; Testing and Quality certification for motor vehicles imported, assembled and manufactured
in Vietnam.
The first one, Vietnam Auto Register (VAR), is in charge of
periodical inspection management. It is established by the decision No 3138/2002QÐ-BGTVT
dated 30/09/2002 signed by the Minister of Transport.
The second one, Motor Vehicle Quality and Type Approval Center,
is in charge of Testing and Quality certification for motor vehicles imported,
assembled and manufactured in Vietnam. It is established by the decision No
107/QÐ-NS1998 dated 08/4/1998 by the Vietnam Register, working since 04.1998.
