In June 2008, VR in coordination with Russia Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS) carried out initial survey and classification for submersible TINRO-2 which owned by Cat Long Hai Joint Stock Company.
In 16-8-2008, VR Office No. 5 organiged the Conference on preliminary report of assignment in Nha Trang with the presence of Mr. Trinh Ngoc Giao - General Director, Mr. Trinh Duc Chinh, Mr. Tran Ky Hinh –Deputy General Director, Mr. Nguyen Van Ban, former VR's General Director, and some of VR's management staff.
After a month of inspection of automobile emission according to new standards, over 11,000 automobiles (8,457 trucks, passenger cars used diesel and 3,084 gasoline vehicles) were failed to comply with this standard, equivalent to 15.2%, among 75,857 automobiles were inspected.
SINGAPORE has urged shipowners and port facility operators to comply with IMOs maritime security requirements under the International Ship and Port facility Security (ISPS) Code well before the stipulated deadline of 1 July 2004. “MPA targets to have all Singapore port facilities and SRS (Singapore Registry of Ships) to be compliant with the requirements of the ISPS Code and properly certified by April 2004,” Lee Seng Kong, senior director at the Maritime & Port Authority, told a maritime security seminar yesterday.
